Welcome to the Wells City Archers website at www.wellscityarchers.org.uk. Although still in its infancy, you can already find some useful information about the club. Take the opportunity to get in touch if you are interested in taking up or even returning to the sport after a break. New members are always welcome, so please have a look around the site. More further information see the About Us page.

Web Site Updated

As a result of our hosting provider updating their platforms, it has been necessary to also update our site as the previous one became broken.

At present, the new site mostly works, but the appearance still has some problems, which we are trying to understand and resolve. Bear with us while we try and sort it out. This may mean the site goes up and down a few times while it is worked on.

S.C.A.A. Inter-Club Tournament 2009 - Wells win the Team Trophy Again (well almost)

This year we had only three club members taking part and one junior, as Danny had to withdraw at the last minute for work reasons. Again the tournament was hosted by Bowmen of Danesfield, who always seem to put on an excellent day. Ernie was rather nervous for an old hand, as he hadn't done any competitive shoots for well over three years, possibly longer. Our ringer this year was Lynne Evans, former Olympic archer (Munich 1972), also chairman of the GNAS, club President and member for many years.

This year was very well attended, with almost all the Somerset clubs represented and around 90 archers shooting. Again it was a very friendly shoot, with many first timers taking part. On my target was a gentleman who had only been in the sport for three months. He still won a prize though, for worst white.
